best poster/flash talk award and an EMBO prize at the Ilanit Conference 2023

Ms Riham Smoom, a graduate student from the lab of Prof. Dudy Tzfati, the Genetics Department, won a best poster/flash talk award and an EMBO prize at the Ilanit meeting 2023.
Riham received the prizes for her work on a novel mouse model, termed ‘Telomouse’, which has human length telomeres. Since telomeres of the normal lab mouse are about five times longer, Telomouse can model for the first time the critical roles of telomeres in aging and cancer.
